Day 1
A free 7-day observation experience

What if your pet has been trying to tell you something all along?

Over the past several years, I've had the privilege of working with hundreds of pets and their families through Animal Communication sessions.

Across those sessions, I've noticed something that continues to fascinate me.

Sometimes pets appear to mirror the emotions of the people they love. Sometimes they seem to take on their guardian's emotional or physical burdens. Sometimes they respond in completely unexpected ways. And sometimes… they don't.

Every pet is unique. This challenge was inspired by the patterns I've observed over the years — not to prove a theory, but to help you discover your own.

Over the next seven days, you'll spend just three minutes a day observing both yourself and your pet. By the end, you'll receive a personalised Mirror Report highlighting the patterns that emerged throughout your journey.

You may discover something you've never noticed before. Or you may simply develop a deeper awareness of your relationship with your pet. Both outcomes are valuable.

Three watercolour scenes of a woman and her golden retriever beside a mirror: when she is sad the dog mirrors her, when she is overwhelmed the dog comforts her, and when she is unwell the dog rests as if carrying it with her.

Every pet responds differently.
Some mirror. Some comfort. Some appear to take on.
Some simply respond in their own unique way.

What's your pet's unique pattern in your relationship with them?

Before we begin

Approach with curiosity, not expectation.

There are no right answers. No wrong answers.

Some guardians notice strong patterns. Others notice subtle ones. Some notice none at all. That's perfectly okay.

One of the biggest lessons I've learned over the years is that awareness often changes a relationship before anything else does.

Whether you discover many patterns or none at all, you've taken the first step by paying attention — and your pet will notice and appreciate that.

Concept one

Understanding Mirroring

One of the most common themes I've noticed across hundreds of Animal Communication sessions is what I call mirroring.

Some pets seem to reflect aspects of their guardian's emotional world. I've met guardians who struggle with anxiety and have pets that also appear anxious or hypervigilant. I've also met guardians who are extroverts, and whose pets seem just as social and outgoing.

I've always been a very anxious and sensitive person, and my own dog, Twinkle, is extremely anxious and sensitive too. She notices every little change and every little emotion I go through.

I've also had difficult experiences with men — and ever since Twinkle was only a few weeks old, she's shown a deep fear of men, despite never having experienced any trauma herself.

From my perspective, this is one example of mirroring.

But mirroring doesn't always mean a pet behaves exactly like their guardian. Sometimes a sad guardian has a sad pet. Sometimes a sad guardian has a pet who suddenly becomes extra playful, affectionate, or comforting in an attempt to help them feel better. In my experience, this is more common than you might think.

Every pet expresses love differently. This challenge is designed to help you discover your pet's own unique way of responding.

Concept two

Understanding Taking On

Another pattern I've frequently observed is something called taking on. This is when a pet appears to carry some of the emotional or physical burden of the person they love.

A German Shepherd named Simba, whom I connected with very recently, had become unusually lethargic. His mum had visited multiple veterinarians, yet no one could identify a medical reason for his sudden change.

During our Animal Communication session, we explored what else was happening in the family. His mum had recently been diagnosed with diabetes and was carrying significant emotional trauma from her childhood that was still affecting her.

From the perspective of Animal Communication, Simba seemed to have made it his soul's mission to support his mum by taking on some of her burden — resulting in his lethargy and unexplained, prolonged illnesses.

Experiences like Simba's are one of the reasons I became so interested in understanding these patterns. Over the past six years, I've had hundreds of animals communicate similar feelings during sessions.

Whether you interpret these experiences through Animal Communication, emotional sensitivity, changes in routine, or simply the incredibly close bond we share with our pets — this challenge isn't here to prove one explanation over another. It's simply here to help you observe your own experience.

Four ways of seeing

Why might this happen?

There isn't just one explanation.

Our pets are incredibly observant. They notice our routines. Our body language. Our facial expressions. The way we move through our homes. The way we speak. The energy we bring into a room.

Some people understand these patterns through behavioural science. Others through biology. Others through the emotional bond between humans and animals. And some, like me, have also observed them through Animal Communication.

You don't need to decide which explanation feels right today. Simply stay curious.

Is this for you?

I'd especially encourage you to complete this challenge if…

One of the most common things I've observed over the years is that pets often become especially sensitive during these periods.

Whether they're mirroring you, taking on some of your burden, or simply responding to the subtle changes in your emotions, routines, and behaviour — they often notice much more than we realise. Even when we believe we're hiding our stress, our pets may notice the smallest changes.

This challenge gives you the opportunity to slow down, pay attention, and discover whether any patterns begin to emerge.

Already feeling like this resonates?

You don't have to wait until the end of the challenge. If you're already feeling that something deeper may be happening with your pet, we can explore it together now.

During a one-to-one Animal Communication session, we'll gently explore your pet's emotional world, what's happening beneath the behaviours you're seeing, and the questions that matter most to you.

The goal isn't to tell you what to believe. It's to help you understand whether your own emotional experiences and your pet's behaviours seem connected in any meaningful way — and if they are, to help you take the next steps with greater awareness and compassion.

An open door

Ready to explore your pet's inner world?

By the time you complete this challenge, you may discover patterns you never noticed before. Or you may realise you've had questions about your pet for a long time that deserve a deeper conversation.

If, at any point during this journey, you feel you'd like to explore what's happening in your pet's inner world more deeply, I'd love to support you. Together, we'll look beyond the behaviours and gently explore your pet's emotional perspective, the patterns you've been noticing, and practical ways to support both of you.

Every pet has a unique story. I'd be honoured to help you discover yours.

Continue your journey

You've spent seven days noticing.

Over the past week you've begun noticing patterns that are often easy to miss in everyday life. That isn't about proving anything — it's about slowing down enough to notice. And you did.

Many pet parents tell us the Mirror Challenge helped them ask new questions — but they still wanted to understand why those patterns might be happening.

If you'd like to continue exploring your relationship with your pet, there are two ways to continue. Neither is more right than the other — follow whichever feels like yours.
